Senior Mobile Product Engineer/Designer (React Native/Expo + Figma) — Part-time (PWA - Native)

We’re hiring a rare hybrid who can build + design and drive product forward. Two existing PWAs must become rock-solid now, with a clear path to optional native releases later (React Native/Expo).

App 01 - sleek radio-style listening with Soundcloud widget api.
App 02 - health data companion (blood markers, trends, compact visualizations).

Workflow today: GitHub (PRs) ? Vercel.

Your mindset: propose ideas proactively, suggest improvements, and own outcomes.

Responsibilities
Ship PWA features in React + TypeScript (Next.js/Vite) with clean, modular architecture.
UX/UI (Figma): flows, prototypes, design system & tokens, microcopy, accessibility; dev-ready handoff.
Privacy-first backend architecture:
PostgreSQL (schema design, migrations), RLS/policies for per-user data.
Auth: Auth.js/Lucia/OAuth/OIDC; session management; refresh/rotation.
APIs: tRPC/REST/GraphQL with Zod validation, typed client.
Storage: S3-compatible for media, signed URLs.
Jobs/Queues: QStash/Cloudflare Queues/Sidekiq-like alternative.
Hosting: Fly.io/Render/Railway/Hetzner/Cloudflare; IaC/Docker.
Security/GDPR: encryption at rest & optional client-side for sensitive fields, audit log, consent, export/delete endpoints, minimal analytics (e.g., Plausible), rate limiting.
Observability & QA: Sentry, Lighthouse budgets, Playwright/Jest, Vercel.
Prepare the native path: feasibility for RN/Expo (background audio, EAS CI, store requirements) without throwing PWA work away.

Must-haves

4+ yrs mobile/web; strong React + TypeScript / Figma.
Shipped real apps (live PWAs and/or store links) with case studies (not just visuals).
Proven backend design with Postgres + one of: tRPC/REST/GraphQL, RLS/tenant isolation, auth flows.
Excellent written English (C1+) for specs, PRs, docs, release notes.
Evidence of design systems & mobile-first UX; accessibility basics.

Nice-to-haves

React Native/Expo (background audio, media session), Swift/Kotlin bridges.
Drizzle/Prisma, Hasura/Appwrite/Directus/Supabase (self-host or hosted), event sourcing, Unleash/Flagsmith.
Time tracking & transparency (required)
Weekly Clockify/Toggl export (tasks & hours) + short changelog (and optional 2–3 min Loom).

Can you own PWA ? Native?
