FRACTAL - Video Editor Assistant Position
Remote | 25-35 hours/week | $4-6/hour USD

Hello, I'm Jessica the a Manager of FRACTAL - a premium documentary YouTube channel specializing in investigative content with cutting-edge 3D visualization. We cover military history, engineering disasters, and shocking events with systematic precision.

We're scaling from good to exceptional and need a Video Editor Assistant to handle foundational editing work while I focus on creative direction and business growth.

THE ROLE
This is NOT a fully creative position - it's a systematic, process-driven role perfect for someone who excels at following detailed procedures and delivering consistent quality.
You'll handle the time-intensive prep work that enables our rapid scaling while maintaining premium documentary standards.

WEEKLY PRODUCTION SCHEDULE
1 Evergreen Video (15-20 minutes): Military history, engineering disasters, investigations
2-4 Current Events (8-12 minutes): Breaking news analysis, trending topics
Total Output: 3-4 videos/week, ~60-80 minutes of premium content
Turnaround: 4-day cycles for evergreen, 24-48 hours for breaking news

YOUR SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Foundation Work:
Rough cut assembly from detailed scripts and timecodes and audio files
Audio synchronization and basic mixing
Archival footage sourcing and integration
3D asset placement from provided renders
Color correction
Timeline organization for final creative review

Content Types:
Documentary investigations with heavy archival footage
Breaking news rapid-response videos
Professional talking head segments
Complex 3D visualization integration
Premium production values throughout

Systems Work:
Following detailed SOPs for every process
Asset management and file organization
Quality checklist compliance
Consistent technical specifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Skills:
2+ years documentary or educational video editing experience
FCPX ideally or Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve proficiency (must specify which)
Proven archival footage sourcing and integration experience
Reliable computer setup capable of 4K editing and exporting fast
Stable internet connection for large file transfers
English proficiency level 4-5 (critical for following detailed instructions)

Reliable for consistent daily work and tight deadlines
Strong file organization and project management skills
Proactive communication about challenges or delays

WORK SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
Hours: 25-35 hours/week (flexible within your timezone)
Rate: $3-6/hour USD (based on experience and test performance)
Payment: Bi-weekly via WISE
Schedule: Must accommodate some overlap for feedback and urgent projects
Trial Period: 1-week paid trial to ensure mutual fit
A test edit for 1 minute will be required for paid trial acceptance
