JOB OVERVIEW

Key Responsibilities:
-Design, implement and optimise AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation (or Terraform) to support web applications, microservices and batch workloads.
-Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, GitHub Actions or equivalent) for seamless application delivery.
-Manage container platforms (Docker, AWS Fargate, EKS), ensuring reliable deployment, scaling and security.
-Configure and oversee AWS services such as VPC, ALB/ELB, RDS/Aurora, ElastiCache, SQS, SNS, EFS, CloudFront, WAF and Shield.
-Implement monitoring, logging and alerting solutions using CloudWatch, X-Ray and third-party tools to maintain performance and uptime.
-Embed security scanning in pipelines (Trivy, Snyk, AWS Inspector) and uphold compliance standards.
-Automate routine operational tasks - backups, patching, certificate renewal and disaster-recovery drills.
-Collaborate with development teams to advise on best practices for security, scalability and cost optimisation.
-Establish i ---------- management practices and runbooks, using PagerDuty or Opsgenie.
-Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

Required Qualifications
-AWS Certification: Solutions Architect – Associate (minimum) or AWS Certified Developer / DevOps Engineer.
-Proven experience (3+ years) managing production AWS environments.
-Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation and/or Terraform).
-Strong containerisation skills with Docker; hands-on experience with AWS Fargate and/or EKS.
-Solid understanding of networking (VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, NACLs).
-Skilled in scripting (Bash, Python or PowerShell) and Linux administration.
-Experience building and optimising CI/CD pipelines as code.
-Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
-Excellent communicator with a team-first mindset.

Desirable Skills
-Azure fundamentals or certification (AZ-900, Azure DevOps Engineer).
-Configuration management with Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
-Hands-on with serverless frameworks (Lambda, API Gateway).
-Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
-Knowledge of Terraform for multi-cloud infrastructure.
-Exposure to security standards and compliance (ISO 27001, SOC 2).
-Chaos engineering/DR planning: AWS Fault Injection Simulator, Chaos Toolkit.
