JOB OVERVIEW

Our firm specializes in serving real estate professionals, investors, and small business owners. Our focus is on helping clients minimize tax liability, navigate complex transactions, and build long-term financial success.

We are seeking an Experienced Tax Accountant to take a leadership role in managing complex client engagements and delivering strategic tax planning for our specialized client base.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review complex federal and multi-state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, and trusts.

Preparation of tax returns for real estate clients, including tax treatment of acquisitions, sales, refinancing, cost segregation, and 1031 exchanges.

Assist with small business clients on entity structure optimization, basis and capital account tracking, QBI planning, and year-end strategies.

Conduct advanced tax research on issues such as passive activity loss limitations, at-risk rules, and real estate professional qualifications.

Develop and implement tax planning strategies tailored to real estate investors and small business owners.

Oversee IRS and state audit responses and notices.

Maintain proactive communication and forward-looking advice.

Stay informed on emerging tax law changes affecting real estate and small business taxation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Master’s in Taxation preferred.

Active CPA license required.

Minimum of 5 years of recent public accounting experience, with extensive exposure to real estate and small business taxation.

Expertise in U.S. based partnership and S corporation taxation, including allocations, distributions, basis adjustments, and ownership changes.

Strong knowledge of depreciation rules, 1031 exchanges, passive activity limitations, and QBI deduction planning.

Proficiency with tax research tools (e.g., CCH, RIA Checkpoint) and advanced tax preparation software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSystem, Drake).

Strong leadership and supervisory skills with experience mentoring staff.

Excellent communication and client service skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in practical terms.

Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines effectively.
