Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accountant, ideally with experience in dental billing and insurance. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring the smooth operation of billing and insurance processes, and supporting the production of management accounts. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, analytical ability, and exceptional attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and process dental billing and insurance claims, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
Maintain financial records to trial balance stage.
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reports.
Support in the development of forecasts, budgets, and cash flow projections.
Reconcile accounts, process journals, and maintain ledgers.
Handle payroll processing, including statutory deductions and submissions.
Assist with credit control, invoice processing, and payment allocation.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and relevant regulations.
Liaise with dental insurance providers, patients, and internal teams regarding billing queries.
Provide ad hoc financial support to the Finance and Practice Management teams.
Key Requirements
Proven experience in dental billing and insurance claims processing (essential).
Solid accounting knowledge with the ability to bring accounts to trial balance.
Experience in preparing management accounts and forecasts.
Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance.
Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel.
Meticulous attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
AAT qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent experience) desirable.
