PowerShell Script Developer (Windows Login Automation)

Goal
Create a PowerShell solution that runs at every user logon on Windows 10/11 PCs and enforces our standard desktop setup.

Scope / Tasks
- Create a logon-triggered script (Task Scheduler “At log on” for any user) or equivalent that is idempotent (safe to run repeatedly).
- Apply the following settings for the current user:
- Wallpaper: set desktop background to our company image.
- Lock screen: set to the same fixed image.
- Screensaver: enforce a fixed image/screensaver and timeout (we’ll provide values).
- Default browser: set Google Chrome as default for web/HTTP/HTTPS/file associations.
- Default Email: set Microsoft Outlook
- Edge: remove from taskbar and file associations; suppress user launch where feasible without breaking WebView2 (used by some apps).
- Taskbar pins: pin Chrome, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, and a Planner shortcut (Chrome app/PWA for ---------- ) to the taskbar.

Provide configurable paths for the images (wallpaper/lock screen/screensaver) and for app locations.
Include logging (what changed, success/fail) and friendly error handling.
Deliver a README with install/uninstall steps, and optional .ps1 + .bat wrapper for easy deployment.
Solution must work for Windows 10 & 11 (Pro) on new and existing user profiles.

Deliverables
- PowerShell script(s) + any helper files.
- Task Scheduler XML (if used) to register the logon task for “Any user.”
- README (Markdown or PDF) with setup/rollback instructions and variables to edit.

Acceptance Criteria
- Running the installer once sets everything as above; subsequent logons keep settings (idempotent).
- Chrome is default; Edge isn’t default or pinned; WebView2-dependent apps still work.
- Required taskbar pins are present and persist.
- All changes are applied in under 30 seconds on a typical office PC.
- No third-party paid tools.
