About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced dispatcher with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have expertise in load negotiation, scheduling, and route planning, all while adhering to DOT ELD regulations. The role starts with 4-6 hours per day, with the potential for increased hours based on performance.

Vehicles Being Dispatched:

26’ Foot Box Trucks (10,000 lbs weight capacity) / Dock-high with Lift Gate

Sprinter Van / Cargo Van / Ram Promaster (High Roof)

Key Responsibilities:

Dispatching Vehicles: Negotiate rates with drivers, aiming for a minimum of a 40% margin, and assign vehicles to specific routes and deliveries based on customer orders, schedules, and driver availability.

Communication with Drivers: Maintain constant communication with drivers, providing instructions, updates, and support throughout their routes.

Routing and Scheduling: Plan efficient routes to minimize travel time, fuel costs, and wear on vehicles. Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes or unexpected events.

Tracking Shipments: Monitor shipments in real-time using tracking systems and GPS technology. Address delays or issues as they arise.

Customer Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers post-dispatch, providing delivery updates, addressing inquiries, and resolving concerns or complaints promptly.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of trucking activities, including driver logs, delivery schedules, and customer communication. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations (e.g., BOL, POD).

Problem-Solving: Resolve logistical problems or emergencies, such as vehicle breakdowns, traffic delays, or adverse weather conditions.

Safety Compliance: Ensure trucks and drivers comply with safety regulations and company policies. Regularly verify driver credentials, vehicle maintenance, and adherence to transportation laws in collaboration with HR.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Service, Fleet Drivers, Billing, Sales, HR, and Warehouse staff to coordinate operations and improve efficiency.

Continuous Improvement: Identify and suggest improvements to dispatching processes, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Offer feedback and innovative solutions to the management team.

Working on Loadboards: Bid on Sylectus/DAT/Amazon Relay and other broker sites during the off-peak season.

Qualifications:

At least 2 years of experience in the U.S. logistics industry, with proven experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation management.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with drivers, customers, and tea ---------- mbers.

Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in dispatching software, GPS systems, and other relevant technology tools.

Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety procedures, and industry best practices.

Ability to remain calm under pressure, with a problem-solving mindset and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.

Availability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, ensuring 24/7 coverage.

Hardware & Technical Requirements:

Processor: 2.0 GHz or higher, Intel Core i5/i7 preferred.

RAM: Minimum 8 GB.

Disk Space: 100 GB of free space.

A second monitor for multitasking.

Backup computer.

Headset with a noise-canceling feature.

Internet: Minimum 10 Mbps wired connection for both main and backup ISPs.

Strictly no USB sticks allowed for backup ISP.
