I’m looking for a Website Designer who understands SEO to help maintain and improve multiple websites (primarily WordPress, with a couple on Squarespace). You’ll also be working with my custom-built AI SEO tools to keep content updated and improve organic search performance.
This role is best suited to someone who can balance clean, functional web design with a strong grasp of SEO fundamentals, ensuring websites not only look great but also rank well in search engines.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing and maintaining websites in WordPress (Elementor required)
- Experience with Squarespace (content and design updates)
- SEO knowledge – you should understand on-page SEO and how to optimise content for organic growth
- Strong design sense: layouts that are user-friendly, mobile-responsive, and visually appealing
- Independent and reliable – able to manage tasks without micromanagement
- Strong English communication skills (written & verbal)
Nice to Have (Not Required, but a Plus)
- Understanding of HTML/CSS
- Experience with technical SEO (site speed, schema, indexing)
- Graphic design basics (Canva, Photoshop, or similar)
What I’m Looking For
- Someone who can combine design and SEO thinking
- A problem solver who can figure things out without being handheld
- Portfolio-backed experience – applications without samples of work will not be considered
- Long-term mindset – I’m looking for someone to grow with me
Next Steps (For Applying)
- GPT or AI-generated answers will not be considered
- Include proof of your work – live website links or portfolio examples
- Answer these two questions in your application:
1. Tell me about a time you improved a website’s design and SEO at the same time. What problem did you identify, what changes did you make, and what was the result?
2. Imagine you’re managing a client’s WordPress site and they complain their site traffic has dropped sharply in the last month. What steps would you take to figure out the cause and fix it?
Pay
- We will start with a short paid trial task
- If that goes well, we’ll move onto part-time work to assess compatibility
- Potential to grow into a full-time role
