About Us
We’re a growing accounting and business advisory firm here in New Zealand, however we like to do things a little differently. We’re not just about the numbers; we’re approachable, professional, and proud of the lasting impact we make for our clients.

Our values are simple but powerful: Clarity, Growth, and Impact. We believe in keeping things approachable and down-to-earth, while bringing fresh ideas and energy to everything we do.

Why This Role is Different
This isn’t just a bookkeeping job. It’s an exclusive opportunity to work side-by-side with me, the CEO, supporting client work and helping shape the way our firm runs.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and dependable VA/Bookkeeper to support our team. This role is about keeping things accurate, organised, and consistent — making sure our clients’ numbers are always in safe hands.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Handle daily and monthly bookkeeping in Xero (bank reconciliations, coding, reporting) for our clients.
• Prepare GST returns and assist with annual accounts, and tax return preparation.
• Maintain client records and help keep workflows running smoothly.
• Spot areas to improve processes and systems.
• Support CEO directly with client management, follow-ups, and prep work.
• Contribute to advisory sessions by preparing financial summaries and action points.
• Manage our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), including assist in creating content and scheduling regular posts to ensure consistent engagement and brand visibility.

What We’re Looking For
Must Haves:
• Strong Xero skills (bookkeeping, reconciliations, reporting).
• 3+ years’ bookkeeping or accounting support experience.
• Experience with NZ accounting/tax compliance.
• Must work during NZ business hours.
• Xero Advisor Certification + Payroll Certification (non-negotiable).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong English communication skills (written & spoken).
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Comfortable with cloud-based tools (Microsoft SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook Loom, Notion, HubSpot, Asana, etc.).
• A reliable laptop (less than 5 years old) with Windows 11 installed
• Experience working alongside managers or leaders to keep client work on track.

Who You Are
• Growth-focused: you want more than a job, you want a career.
• Problem solver: you don’t just spot errors you fix them.
• Independent: you manage your own work, but know when to ask the right questions.
• Client-minded: you care about delivering value to business owners.
• Collaborative: you thrive working directly with leadership.

You’re the kind of person who:
• Feels a sense of satisfaction when everything balances and nothing slips through the cracks.
• Takes pride in getting the numbers right the first time.
• Brings a calm, steady presence even when things get busy.
• Enjoys working through checklists and keeping systems neat and organised.
• Loves being the reliable right hand who frees up the leader to focus on the big picture, knowing the details are in safe hands.

90-Day Trial Period
This role will start with a 90-day trial period. A great chance for both of us to make sure it’s the right fit. You’ll get:
• Hands-on training and support directly fro ---------- .
• Clear goals and check-ins so you know how you’re tracking.
• Exposure to how we work with clients and run advisory.

If we’re a great match (and I hope we are!), you’ll roll into a long-term role with plenty of room to grow and hours as well.

Why Join Us?
• Competitive pay (above market for the right candidate).
• Remote and flexible work, however still close collaboration with me.
• A supportive team that values accuracy as much as you do.
