JOB OVERVIEW

We’re a small, US-based digital publication looking for a detail-obsessed Editorial Assistant to help ship clean, well-formatted posts every day. If you live in WordPress, care about how content looks on mobile, and know your way around images and on-page SEO, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll do

- Prep & publish in WordPress: Take edited drafts and publish using Gutenberg or Classic Editor; apply categories, tags, and slugs.
- Format for readability: Headings, bullets, pull quotes, tables, blockquotes, embeds, and internal links—consistent with a style guide.
- Source & manage images: Find license-appropriate images (stock, press kits, official sites), track sources, and add captions/credits.
- Optimize images: Crop/resize, compress, rename intelligently (e.g., keyword-relevant), and ensure crisp rendering on mobile/retina.
- Alt text & featured images: Write clear, descriptive alt text; create simple featured images when needed.
- On-page SEO basics: Titles, meta descriptions, clean URLs, internal linking, anchor text, and basic schema via plugins.
- Quality check: Fix typos, test links, preview on desktop & mobile, verify embeds, and catch layout issues before publishing.
- Light research & updates: Add/verify citations, refresh older posts, and note quick opportunities for content improvements.
- Workflow & comms: Keep the content calendar tidy, meet deadlines, and communicate blockers early.

What you’ll bring

- Hands-on WordPress experience (1–2+ years publishing/formatting).
- Image tooling: Comfortable with Canva and/or Photoshop; bonus points for Figma.
- Optimization know-how: Familiar with ShortPixel/Imagify/TinyPNG (or similar).
- SEO literate: RankMath basics; understands search intent and clean structure.
- Basic HTML/CSS: You can fix spacing, line breaks, tables, and simple embed hiccups.
- Strong English (grammar, clarity) and sharp attention to detail.
- Organized & reliable: You manage checklists, follow a style guide, and hit deadlines.
- Tech ready: Stable internet, reliable laptop, comfortable recording short Looms for handoffs.

Nice to have

- Google Search Console / Analytics (GA4)
- Ahrefs/Semrush basics
- Newsletter tools (Beehiiv, Substack, Mailchimp)
- Project tools (Notion, Asana, Trello)

Work setup

- Location: Remote (Philippines).
- Hours: Full-time preferred (40 hrs/week) with at least 3–4 hours overlap in US Central Time (CT) on weekdays.
- Compensation: Competitive, based on experience. Paid test task for shortlisted candidates.
- How to apply (via OnlineJobs.ph)

Please include:

- Your OnlineJobs.ph profile link + CV.
- 3 WordPress post links you personally formatted/published (note your role).
- A brief note on your image sourcing & optimization workflow (tools + steps).
- Your available schedule (PH time) and expected monthly salary (PHP).
- (Optional) A 2–3 min Loom walking through you formatting a short draft in WordPress.
