I am looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage the accounting for two very small, service-based companies in the US. I also help manage a larger company with greater needs, so the role may possibly expand to take over this as well in the future. This is a part-time, remote position with consistent weekly work and the opportunity to grow as our businesses expand.
What You’ll Do
Maintain accurate and up-to-date books in Xero
Reconcile transactions and accounts regularly
Prepare and review financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance
Meet once per week (via Microsoft Teams) to review transactions from the prior 7 days
Provide timely updates and flag any discrepancies or issues
Initial Workload
The first few weeks/months will involve catching up on past bookkeeping, so hours will be higher at the start
Once caught up, the time commitment will be ~2–3 hours per week
What I'm Looking For
Proven bookkeeping/accounting experience, ideally with service-based companies
Proficiency in Xero (required)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly
Nice to Have
Experience working with multiple companies at once
Openness to take on additional responsibilities as our companies grow (e.g., if a larger business is added in the future)
