About Us

Captain Dental is a fast-growing dental service organization based in the United States. Our insurance team’s goal is to ensure patients can receive treatment with peace of mind, without worrying about unexpected bills.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Dental Insurance Verification Specialist to join our remote team. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely verification of patients’ dental insurance coverage before appointments. You will collaborate with our U.S.-based dental practices and internal team to confirm insurance eligibility, benefits, limitations, and patient responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Verify patients’ dental insurance coverage and eligibility through online portals or by calling insurance companies.

Confirm benefits such as annual maximums, deductibles, frequencies, and limitations for dental procedures.

Accurately document insurance details in the practice management system.

Communicate verification results to the dental office team clearly and in a timely manner.

Review and follow up on pre-determinations and unsolved claims for dental offices.

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

Coordinate with the billing team if discrepancies or issues arise.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of experience in dental insurance verification, dental billing, or U.S. healthcare insurance (preferred).

Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written).

Familiarity with dental procedure codes (CDT codes).

Proficiency in using dental practice management software; Dentrix Ascend strongly preferred.

Ability to review pre-determinations and follow up on unresolved claims.

Tech-savvy: comfortable working on a Mac computer and using a secure VPN for U.S.-based operations.

Proficiency with Google Workspace or similar productivity tools.

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Stable internet connection and a quiet workspace suitable for remote work.

Work Schedule

Full-time position.

Must be able to work U.S. business hours.

Available to work 6 days a week.
