Position Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records,
processing transactions, preparing reports, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with
relevant financial regulations and grant requirements. This role is key in supporting the fiscal
integrity and accountability of our organization.
Qualifications:
Required:
? Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
? Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.
? Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
? Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar).
? Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
? Excellent organizational and time management skills.
? High level of integrity and attention to detail.
? Experience with creating budgets and forecasting.
Preferred:
? Familiarity with fund accounting and grant reporting.
? Experience with donor management and CRM systems.
? Knowledge of IRS Form 990 preparation is a plus.
Responsibilities:
? Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and other financial
records.
? Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal use and external
stakeholders.
? Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely and accurate manner.
? Ensure compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and donor/grant restrictions.
? Support annual audits, including compiling and submitting necessary documentation.
? Collaborate with program and development teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
? Maintain documentation for all financial transactions in accordance with internal policies.
? Assist in payroll processing and reporting, as needed.
? Monitor cash flow and advise leadership on financial status
