Solar Designer (Battery Storage Focus)

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Solar Designer with strong knowledge of battery storage systems to join our team. Starting part-time, this role will transition to full-time as we scale. You’ll play a critical role in supporting our sales team by creating accurate and compelling proposals that help customers make the most of their solar investments.

At first, you’ll assist with both solar layouts and battery system designs, but the primary focus will quickly shift to designing battery storage solutions for existing solar systems across Australia. Over time, this role will grow into a high-volume, specialised design position.

Key Responsibilities
- Design battery storage solutions for existing solar systems based on customer usage data, interval data, or energy bills.
- Support the sales team by preparing accurate, timely, and professional proposals.
- Conduct solar layouts and system designs as required.
- Recommend components and system configurations that meet Australian conditions and customer needs.
- Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards and industry best practices (or be willing to learn).
- Assist in streamlining the proposal process to ensure scalability as volume increases.
- Collaborate with internal teams to refine workflows and improve customer outcomes.

About You
- Experience in solar system design with strong knowledge of battery storage.
- Understanding of Australian solar components (inverters, panels, batteries, etc.).
- Ability to analyse customer usage data or bills to accurately size systems.
- Familiarity with Australian Standards (or willingness to upskill).
- Proficient in solar design software (e.g., Pylon, OpenSolar, or similar).
- Detail-oriented, efficient, and able to deliver high-quality proposals under time pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a sales team.
- A proactive learner with a drive to grow as the role expands.
