# Media Buying Technical Implementation Contractor
## Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced technical contractor to support our media buying operations on a project basis. This role focuses on the technical execution and implementation of paid media campaigns across multiple platforms, with emphasis on proper tracking setup, data integration, and performance optimization infrastructure.
## Contract Details
This is a project-based contractor position with flexible engagement terms. Projects may range from single campaign setups to comprehensive multi-platform implementations. Remote work available with occasional client collaboration as needed. Must be available to work eastern standard hours 9am to 3pm.
## Core Responsibilities
### Campaign Technical Setup & Implementation
Configure and launch paid media campaigns across Google Ads and Meta Ads platforms, ensuring proper account structure, targeting parameters, and technical specifications are met. This includes implementing advanced campaign types, setting up conversion tracking, and establishing proper attribution models.
### Tracking & Analytics Infrastructure
Design and implement comprehensive tracking solutions using Google Tag Manager, including custom event tracking, enhanced ecommerce implementations, and cross-domain tracking configurations. Establish GA4 properties with proper data streams, custom dimensions, and audience definitions that align with campaign objectives.
### Platform Integration & Data Flow
Connect advertising platforms with analytics tools through proper API integrations and data import configurations. Set up conversion APIs for Meta, enhanced conversions for Google Ads, and ensure accurate data flow between all marketing technology systems.
### Technical Troubleshooting & Quality Assurance
Diagnose and resolve tracking discrepancies, implement debugging protocols, and maintain data integrity across all platforms. Conduct regular audits of tracking implementations and provide technical solutions for data collection challenges.
## Required Technical Skills
### Platform Expertise
Demonstrated proficiency in Google Ads Editor, Meta Business Manager, and their respective APIs. Experience with campaign bulk operations, feed management, and automated rules implementation. Understanding of platform-specific technical requirements and limitations.
### Tag Management & Analytics
Advanced knowledge of Google Tag Manager including custom JavaScript variables, trigger configurations, and tag sequencing. Expertise in GA4 configuration including custom events, parameters, enhanced measurement, and BigQuery integration. Familiarity with server-side tagging and first-party data collection methods.
### Technical Implementation Skills
Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS as they relate to tracking implementation. Experience with dataLayer architecture, custom pixel implementation, and webhook configurations. Ability to work with development teams to implement tracking code and troubleshoot technical issues.
### Data & Reporting Configuration
Experience setting up automated reporting workflows, custom dashboards, and data visualization tools. Understanding of UTM parameter strategies, attribution models, and conversion path analysis. Ability to configure data studio connections and API-based reporting solutions.
## Preferred Qualifications
Experience with additional platforms such as LinkedIn Ads, Amazon Advertising, or programmatic display platforms. Familiarity with customer data platforms (CDPs) and marketing automation integration. Knowledge of privacy compliance requirements including GDPR, CCPA, and iOS 14.5+ considerations. Understanding of server-side tracking solutions and cookieless measurement approaches.
Certifications in Google Ads, Google Analytics, Meta Blueprint, or Google Tag Manager are valuable but not required if practical expertise can be demonstrated.
## Project Scope & Expectations
Contractors will be engaged on a per-project basis with clearly defined deliverables and timelines. Projects may include full campaign technical setups, tracking audits and remediation, platform migrations, or ongoing technical support for active campaigns.
Strong documentation skills are essential, as contractors will be expected to provide technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge transfer materials for all implementations.
## Working Arrangement
This position offers flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously with various clients. Contractors should be available for technical consultations during standard business hours and able to respond to urgent technical issues when they arise. Payment terms and project rates will be negotiated based on project complexity and contractor expertise.
