Project-based SEO (Off-page or AI SEO specialist or both)

We are seeking a highly proactive and results-driven SEO Expert (Project-Based) to help us improve organic visibility and rankings across both traditional and AI-driven search platforms.

The ideal candidate is experienced in off-page SEO strategies—especially backlink building—confident in managing SEO within WordPress environments using Elementor, and knowledgeable in GEO SEO strategies and optimizing for visibility in AI Overviews.

This role requires not only execution but also recommending specific deliverables and action steps that we can review and approve before moving forward.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement SEO strategies tailored to rank on both traditional and AI search engines (e.g., Google SGE, AI - Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity).
- Build and maintain a strong backlink profile through ethical off-page SEO methods.
- Optimize and manage WordPress websites with a focus on Elementor-driven content.
- Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and backlink audits to inform strategy.
- Implement and optimize GEO/local SEO tactics to strengthen visibility in targeted regions.
- Monitor performance and provide reports on SEO KPIs and improvements.
- Identify and proactively act on new opportunities to grow organic traffic.
- Collaborate with the content and development teams to ensure best SEO practices are implemented.
- Recommend clear deliverables and milestones for client approval before execution.

Requirements

- Experience in ranking websites on AI search platforms and traditional engines.
- Strong portfolio of successful backlink and local SEO campaigns.
- Knowledgeable in GEO SEO and appearing in AI Overviews.
- Proficiency in WordPress and Elementor, with the ability to work independently on design and optimization.
- Can work independently with minimal supervision
- Up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, especially around AI-driven search.
- Highly proactive with excellent problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Must be available for a weekly meeting during US Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours (flexible scheduling).

We expect the candidate to conduct a comprehensive SEO audit before project initiation and must submit a detailed task proposal with milestones, serving as the basis for completion and payment.

Compensation & Budget
We are looking to start with a budget of $1,200–$1,700 over the course of 3 months with possibility of extension, depending on experience. Rate depends on experience and what you are willing to commit. Payment will be tied to approved deliverables and milestones.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with tools like SEMrush, Surfer SEO, and Google Search Console.
- Familiarity with structured data/schema markup.
- Understanding of content strategies and keyword optimization within AI ecosystems.
