Job Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented remote Shopify expert to oversee and optimize our e-commerce operations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth functionality of our Shopify store, ensuring an exceptional customer experience from browsing to checkout. Flexibility in addressing emergent website issues and a keen understanding of e-commerce dynamics are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Update and manage product information, including descriptions, images, and specifications, on our Shopify store.
Monitor and adjust pricing strategies to remain competitive in the market.
Ensure seamless website functionality by identifying and promptly resolving any issues affecting the customer's checkout process.
Collaborate closely with the marketing team to execute promotions and campaigns effectively.
Analyze website performance metrics and user behavior to pinpoint areas for enhancement.
Provide exemplary customer service by addressing and resolving inquiries and issues related to the website.
Stay informed about Shopify updates, new features, and industry best practices.
Technical SEO Responsibilities:
Site Structure & Indexing:
Check and submit robots.txt – disallow only unnecessary pages (e.g., /cart, /checkout)
Generate and submit XML sitemap in Google Search Console
Enable canonical tags to prevent duplicate content
Exclude tag pages or filtered pages from indexing if thin or duplicate
Limit crawlable pagination unless needed for product discovery
Mobile Optimization:
Ensure responsive design across all devices
Test mobile usability in Google Search Console
Avoid intrusive interstitials/pop-ups on mobile
Crawl ability & Errors:
Fix any 404 errors (especially from old product/collection URLs)
Use Google Search Console Coverage Report to monitor crawl status
Ensure important pages (collections, products, blogs) are not blocked by robots.txt or noindex
Structured Data (Schema Markup):
Enable Product schema (Shopify themes often include it, validate with Rich Results Test)
Add Breadcrumb schema
Include the Organization / Local Business schema in the header or footer
Use the FAQ schema on support or blog pages if applicable
Google Search Console & Analytics:
Provide ongoing access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics
Requirements:

Proven experience in Shopify administration, including product management, pricing strategies, and website maintenance.
Strong grasp of e-commerce best practices, trends, and user experience optimization.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve website issues efficiently to ensure uninterrupted functionality.
Proficiency in analyzing data to drive informed decisions and improvements.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Capability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to shifting demands.
Preferred Qualifications:
Deep knowledge of Shopify and ShipStation.
Familiarity with SEO principles and digital marketing strategies.
Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and web design fundamentals.
Experience with other e-commerce platforms and tools.
