Schedule: Mostly US Eastern Time overlap (target 7:00 AM–2:00 PM ET core hours), remaining hours flexible

What you’ll do (key outcomes):
Daily bookkeeping in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop): A/P, A/R, invoicing, receipts, journal entries, bank/credit-card reconciliations.
Month-end close & reports: Trial balance review, accruals/deferrals, P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow.
Job costing & WIP: Maintain accurate COGS by job, post labor burden/overhead, prepare WIP and margin reports by job/crew/tech.
Financial analysis: Budget vs. actuals, gross margin analysis, KPI dashboards (close rate, average ticket, labor %, material %, AR aging, DSO).
Excel reporting: Pivot tables, lookups, Power Query/Power Pivot (nice to have), data cleaning and automation for recurring reports.
Data hygiene & process: Maintain a clean chart of accounts, item catalogs, classes/locations, documentation of SOPs; collaborate with ops to improve data capture.
Systems: Export/import operational data (e.g., ServiceTitan or similar) and map properly to QuickBooks for accurate job costing.
Must-have qualifications:
3+ years professional bookkeeping with QuickBooks (QBO or Desktop)
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling; comfortable manipulating messy data)
Experience with job costing (construction/home-service preferred)
Clear, professional English (written & spoken)
Reliable internet, quiet workspace, and consistent overlap with US ET
Nice-to-have (big plus):
Macros / VBA or other scripting; Power Query/Power Pivot
ServiceTitan (or similar field service platform)
Home-service / construction industry background
BI tools (Power BI/Looker/Data Studio) or basic SQL
Knows how to use AI to improve or automate tasks and processes
Tools we use
