JOB OVERVIEW

Are you a detail-loving tax preparer and accountant who thrives in a collaborative, growth-minded environment?
Do you have 2–3 years of experience preparing US tax returns and love bringing clarity to complex scenarios?
If you’re nodding along — Factor might just be your next career home.

Who We Are
Factor is not your typical accounting firm. We’re a modern, strategy-driven financial partner serving creative entrepreneurs in the United States — think brand designers, photographers, agency owners, and digital creators. We also have some real estate investors and other service based business owners too!

Our mission? To turn financial confusion into clarity and help our clients build businesses they love.
We value foresight, empowerment, precision, and — yes — joy.

What You’ll Do
As our new Tax Preparer, you’ll work closely with our Tax Director to support both compliance and strategy for our diverse roster of creative clients.

Responsibilities include:
Preparing US tax returns (Forms 1040, 1120S, 1065) accurately and efficiently.

Assisting in tax planning projects and projections — identifying how life or business changes affect tax outcomes.

Preparing for and supporting tax strategy meetings with updated financial data and insights.

Reviewing client documents and identifying opportunities for tax savings and strategy shifts.

Communicating clearly with the Tax Director and clients via email, written summaries, and Loom videos.

Using your tax knowledge to help our creative clients feel confident and empowered.

What We’re Looking For
2–3 years of experience preparing US tax returns (1040, 1120S, 1065).

Deep understanding of US tax rules and regulations.

Drake Tax Software experience (EXTRA BONUS POINTS).

Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.

Bonus points if you’ve used Karbon, Soraban, or Tallyfor.

Strong attention to detail — catching the small things matters here.

Comfort with asynchronous work (you’ll record Looms or write out your thoughts).

Clear written English skills to collaborate and communicate with tea ---------- mbers and clients.

Flexibility to work some overlap hours each week during tax season. Throughout the year during "off-season" overlap hours will be needed as tax director needs to coordinate trainings with you and/or for tea ---------- etings.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us
Work with purpose — we serve passionate creatives and help them thrive.

Be part of a supportive, joyful team — we celebrate wins and genuinely enjoy what we do.

Grow your skills — you’ll learn more than just tax forms. You’ll become a strategic thinker.

Flexible work environment — we value results over hours.

Make a real impact — your work will directly improve the lives and businesses of our clients.

Ready to Apply?
If this sounds like your kind of job — and you’re excited by the idea of combining technical tax skill with client-centered impact — we’d love to meet you.

Apply now by sending your resume (cv) and recording a video (can be done for free on ---------- ) and send it to: ---------- to tell us about yourself and include the following in your video:
1) How many years you've prepared taxes in Drake Tax
2) What excites you about the position and joining Factor
3) A recent accomplishment/highlight or win you were a part of for a client that you are really proud of

We need both your resume and your video in order to ask you to do an interview so if you want to be on the team send both!

Next Steps
We will review your loom video and resume and then send out invites to those we'd like to ask to an interview within the next week.
