JOB OVERVIEW

ROLE TITLE: Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Founder, Décalage Solutions

Role Purpose

This role supports the growth and visibility of Décalage Solutions by creating value-aligned, trauma-aware, feminist, and justice-centered digital content across social channels.

The purpose of this role is to:
-support audience education and engagement
-translate the Founder's thought leadership into accessible digital content
-maintain consistent social presence without urgency or burnout
-help integrate content strategy into broader brand goals
-uphold Décalage’s commitment to anti-oppressive storytelling

This role is essential to helping Decalage expand sustainably while honouring the mission of preventing burnout among activists, advocates, and change-makers.

Core Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Content Development

1) Conduct monthly content research including:
-Feminist + justice-aligned awareness dates
-Global activism and social issues
-Trending audio, hashtags, and formats
-Seasonally relevant themes

2) Support development of content strategy aligned with brand values

3) Draft and develop content ideas based on notes, themes, research, or voice memos from the Founder

4) Edit videos provided by the Founder or use as:
-Instagram Reels
-Stories
-YouTube Shorts
-Other platforms as needed

5) Write captions and supporting copy aligned with Décalage’s tone and messaging

6) Ensure all content reflects trauma-aware, anti-oppressive, inclusive communication

Long-Form & Written Content
-Create blog posts or written pieces as requested
-Assist in drafting longer educational pieces, newsletters, or video scripts
-Develop content breakdowns (e.g., “recipe-style” educational content) when useful
-Translate longer content pieces into short-form social media content

Coordination & Workflow
-Maintain a monthly content calendar with themes, posting timelines, and draft deadlines
-Coordinate with graphic designers or editors as needed
-Assign tasks and provide clear instructions for needed assets (graphics, ManyChat, keywords, etc.)
-Keep communication organized and proactive
-Support content preparation for campaigns, program launches, retreat promotions, and partnerships
-Maintain organized content files, drafts, and version control in shared platforms

Skills & Qualifications

Required
-Experience in social media content creation (Instagram required; TikTok/YouTube a plus)
-Video editing skills (simple, clean edits appropriate for Reels/Shorts)
-Strong writing and storytelling ability
-Ability to translate complex ideas into accessible, empowering messaging
-Understanding of or willingness to learn feminist, activist, and justice-centered frameworks
-Organized, self-directed, and reliable
-Strong communication skills and ability to work asynchronously

Preferred
-Experience supporting mission-driven, feminist, or advocacy-focused brands
-Familiarity with Instagram analytics and optimization
-Experience with simple automation tools and scheduling systems
-Basic familiarity with Canva, CapCut, or similar editing tools

Hours & Compensation
-Hourly Rate: $4-$9 USD/hour based on experience
-Starting Hours: Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week (hours may vary based on workload)
-Hours may increase as the business grows and as responsibilities expand
-Opportunity for rate increases during performance reviews and at points where the role expands
-Payment Schedule: Monthly on the 1st of each month (via PayPal or agreed method)
-Any work outside the agreed scope requires pre-approval and may incur additional compensation

Contract Duration
-Ongoing role with a two-week termination notice period for either party.
