Accounting Specialist – Remote
A growing team is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations and support both internal processes and client-facing responsibilities. This is a remote position that requires hands-on accounting expertise, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
Responsibilities
Manage and review financial records including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and tax documentation.
Supervise a small team of accountants, offering regular feedback, coaching, and support with professional development.
Support clients with monthly and year-end close activities, produce accurate financial statements, and assist during audits.
Develop and implement internal procedures to improve consistency and efficiency.
Collaborate with other departments including tax, sales, and operations to ensure alignment and compliance.
Evaluate changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements, applying them as needed.
Define and monitor performance indicators to ensure financial goals and deadlines are met.
Ideal Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Between 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in accounting roles.
Experience managing or mentoring team members.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel is essential.
Must be able to obtain QuickBooks Online certification within 60 days of hire.
Familiarity with tax reporting and compliance practices is highly preferred.
CPA designation is a plus, but not mandatory.
Spanish fluency is a bonus.
