About the Role:

We’re building a real-world AI-powered SaaS platform designed to automate digital marketing and website operations for blue-collar businesses — starting with junk removal and dumpster rental companies. Our system streamlines branding, SEO, PPC, website generation, and AI-assisted customer engagement through a tightly integrated suite of tools.

We're looking for a Senior WordPress Developer to join our engineering team. The primary focus of this role is expert-level WordPress development — building high-performance, responsive, pixel-perfect websites that look great, load fast, and rank well. However, we’re especially interested in candidates who are also experts using AI tools and eager to grow their skills in that area.

You’ll work closely with our design and AI teams to build sites using a mix of traditional WordPress workflows and modern AI-powered tools. From there, you’ll be responsible for performance optimization, plugin customization, front-end logic, and ensuring the final product meets high technical and UX standards.

What You’ll Do:
- Build and deploy fast, responsive WordPress websites based on AI-assisted mockups or pre-built templates
- Convert AI-generated site designs into clean, modular WordPress themes and components
- Integrate and customize plugins to support advanced functionality, including lead gen, forms, maps, etc.
- Optimize site performance for Core Web Vitals, GTmetrix, and YSlow benchmarks
- Ensure full mobile and cross-browser compatibility through thorough QA testing
- Collaborate with AI and prompt engineering teams to refine how content and layouts are generated
- Implement SEO best practices across all site builds, including structured data and page speed improvements
- Set up A/B testing flows and track performance outcomes
- Use AI tools (like ChatGPT, Claude, Framer, Midjourney, etc.) to streamline development and experiment with new capabilities
- Work with multisite environments and shared codebases
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, or plugin conflicts efficiently

What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of professional WordPress development experience (themes, custom post types, advanced plugin usage)
- Strong command of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles
- Deep familiarity with optimizing for page speed, GTmetrix, and mobile responsiveness
- Experience working with page builders (e.g., Elementor, Bricks) and custom-coded themes
- Comfortable testing and debugging across multiple browsers/devices
- Familiarity with A/B testing tools (e.g., Google Optimize, VWO, etc.)
- Clear communication skills and the ability to follow complex briefs and workflows

Bonus (Nice to Have):
- Experience using AI tools to generate layouts, content, or assist with code (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Framer, Midjourney)
- Familiarity with modern AI SaaS tools like Durable, 10Web, Wix ADI, or Framer Sites
- Ability to work within Git-based or component-driven environments
- Experience with Supabase, serverless functions, or other backend services
- Understanding of prompt engineering basics or LLM integration workflows
- A background in developing high-converting marketing sites or landing pages
