Virtual Medical Office Assistant – Lactation Medicine (HIPAA-Trained, U.S. Healthcare & Social Media Experience Required)
About Us
Bloom and Grow Lactation is a physician-led, evidence-based lactation medicine and newborn care clinic based in Mississippi, USA. We provide compassionate, inclusive, and scientifically grounded care for breastfeeding families. Our clinic uses IntakeQ as our EMR and Trizetto as our clearinghouse for insurance claims. We are looking for a detail-oriented, reliable, and tech-savvy Virtual Medical Office Assistant to join our team.

Remote, Full-Time (Part-Time considered for the right candidate)

Responsibilities:
Front Desk & Patient Support
Answer inbound phone calls with professionalism and empathy.
Schedule patient appointments in IntakeQ.
Respond to patient portal messages.
Insurance & Billing
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
Submit claims via Trizetto clearinghouse.
Monitor claim status, handle rejections, and manage resubmissions to ensure timely payment.
Administrative & Marketing Support
Maintain accurate patient records in IntakeQ.
Prepare patient communications and forms.
Create simple marketing materials in Canva.
Assist with social media management — posting on
Use AI tools to help draft educational content, templates, and patient outreach materials (training provided).
Requirements:
MUST have prior experience working in the U.S. healthcare system (preferably in a clinic, hospital, or medical billing company).
HIPAA-trained with knowledge of handling Protected Health Information (PHI) securely.
Experience using IntakeQ (preferred) or similar EMRs.
Experience using Trizetto or other insurance clearinghouses.
Proficient in Canva for creating simple graphics and documents.
Familiar with social media posting and scheduling tools
Comfortable using AI tools to improve workflows and communication.
Strong written and verbal English skills.
High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Stable high-speed internet and quiet workspace.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in medical billing and coding.
Experience in lactation medicine, pediatrics, or OB/GYN settings.
Ability to work during U.S. Central Time business hours.
