JOB OVERVIEW

Innovative Publishing – Remote

We’re looking for an experienced Publisher / Publishing Operations Manager to help run day-to-day publishing operations for our growing book company. This role works directly with the CEO and requires someone who understands the full publishing lifecycle and can manage projects independently with minimal supervision.

This is not an entry-level role. We’re seeking a detail-oriented professional with real publishing experience, strong execution skills, and the ability to keep multiple book projects moving forward on schedule.

What You’ll Do:
- Manage book projects from manuscript to publication and release
- Coordinate with editors, designers, formatters, and marketing partners
- Prepare, upload, and manage titles on Amazon KDP, IngramSpark, and other publishing platforms
- Oversee production timelines, deliverables, and basic project budgets
- Maintain clear, professional communication with authors throughout the publishing process
- Manage author contracts, manuscripts, assets, and internal publishing records
- Collaborate with the marketing team on launch timelines and promotional planning
- Track sales performance and assist with basic royalty reporting
- Support the acquisition and onboarding of new authors and book projects

Requirements (Please Read Carefully)
To be considered, you must have:
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in book publishing or publishing operations
- Direct experience managing multiple book projects simultaneously
- Working knowledge of Amazon KDP and IngramSpark (uploads, metadata, revisions, updates)
- Strong organizational and project-management skills
- Excellent written communication skills (author-facing)
- The ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and problem-solve without constant oversight

Nice to Have:
- Experience working with independent or hybrid publishers
- Familiarity with ISBNs, metadata optimization, and print/digital formats
- Experience coordinating book launches and marketing timelines
- Understanding of royalty structures and sales tracking
