Job Title: SEO Strategist

About the Role
Constellation Marketing is looking for a results-driven SEO Strategist to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll take full ownership of SEO strategy across a portfolio of law firm clients—developing roadmaps, diagnosing performance issues, planning content and optimization, managing backlinks and GBP profiles, and driving results in both traditional and AI-powered search environments.

You’ll collaborate across departments—content, client strategy, ads, and web—to ensure that SEO performance is tightly aligned with broader client goals. This role requires curiosity, discipline, and a passion for data-backed decision-making.

You’ll receive weekly 1:1s and monthly strategist trainings, with support from a Director who’s committed to your development.

Responsibilities:

Strategic SEO Execution
-- Own and manage SEO performance for your assigned clients.
-- Create tailored SEO roadmaps aligned with client goals and site potential.
-- Run monthly performance reviews (SPRs) using internal tools and manual analysis.
-- Recommend actionable improvements across content, links, structure, and optimization.
-- Update performance data and insights in the team strategy scorecard.

Support Ticket Triage & Client Issue Resolution
-- Monitor and respond to ~3–5 SEO-related support tickets per day.
-- Troubleshoot traffic drops, indexing issues, negative SEO trends, or lead concerns.
-- Investigate root causes and create or delegate resolution plans across teams.

Link Building & GBP Strategy
-- Plan monthly link-building strategies with quality, budget, and diversity in mind.
-- Track link cost averages.
-- Manage and optimize Google Business Profiles (GBP) for each client:
--- Audit GBP monthly for accuracy and performance
--- Post content, refine services/categories, and monitor lead trends

Content & Optimization Planning
-- Develop 6-month content and optimization plans per client.
-- Avoid cannibalization through intent and coverage audits.
-- Use SEO tools to identify gaps and prioritize high-value opportunities.
-- Submit plans for Director approval prior to execution.

GEO & AI Search Optimization
-- Integrate Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) best practices into strategy.
-- Implement on-page changes to improve visibility in AI-powered SERPs.
-- Contribute to internal GEO reporting innovation and experimental tracking.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
-- Work closely with Content Team, Client Strategy Team, and Web Team

Qualifications
2+ years of hands-on SEO experience (agency experience preferred)
Strong understanding of on-page SEO, link building, and local SEO
Familiarity with AI trends in search (e.g., SGE, Bing Copilot) is a plus
Experience with tools like Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, etc.
Strong communication and writing skills
Detail-oriented with strong time management
Comfortable working remotely with a distributed team
