Video Editor

Salary: $225 (with bonus up to $275 total if all criteria is met)
Hours: 10AM–1PM EST, Monday–Friday

Hi! You’ll be working for Shiny, a NYC-based content creator focused on skin positivity, beauty, and wellness. We’re looking for a reliable and creative Video Editor to help craft engaging short-form content across TikTok, IG Reels, and YouTube Shorts.

You’ll collaborate closely with Shiny, me (her Executive Assistant), and her Social Media Manager to produce on-brand, high-performing edits that stay ahead of trends.

Your Responsibilities:
-Edit short-form videos (TikTok, Reels, Shorts)
-Add subtitles, transitions, captions, and engaging effect
-Follow brand tone, aesthetics, and optimize for platform best practices
-Organize raw and final files in CapCut or other editing platforms
-Turn around drafts within 24–48 hours

You’re a Great Fit If You:
- Have a strong portfolio of vertical video work (Reels, TikTok, Shorts)
- Are proactive, resourceful, and don’t need hand-holding
- Have experience working with US-based clients, creators, or brands and understand their communication style and expectations
- Understand social media nuances, especially American Gen Z culture - from caption tone to trending formats
- Are extremely detail-oriented - you catch typos, bad crops, and awkward pacing
- Can manage multiple edits at once in a fast-paced content environment
- Have reliable Wi-Fi and quick response time
- Are comfortable using (or learning) AI tools to speed up your workflow
