Job Title:
Photo Editor (Culling + Light Touchups – Lightroom/Photoshop)
Job Description:
We’re looking for a reliable photo editor with a sharp eye and steady hands—not someone chasing filters or trends.
Oak City Social Club is a Raleigh-based creative house focused on portrait and event photography. We’re seeking a skilled editor to help cull images and perform occasional light retouching. This is project-based work, not full-time, but we’re looking for someone we can depend on when new galleries roll in.
If you understand what makes an image technically strong, can confidently sort through hundreds of photos without zoning out, and know your way around Lightroom—we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
Review and cull RAW images (portraits + event work) using Lightroom catalogs with smart previews
Flag and star-rate the most viable images (composition, expression, sharpness, etc.)
Perform occasional basic retouching in Lightroom or Photoshop (removing distractions, wrinkles, flyaway hair) after orders are placed.
Return updated catalogs via Dropbox within 2–3 days
Requirements:
Proficiency in Lightroom (Classic) and basic Photoshop skills
Strong judgment for technical quality and salability of an image
Good communication and commitment to deadlines
Reliable internet connection for Dropbox file transfers
Attention to detail—no rushing, no guessing
Project Details:
Work is as-needed, depending on project flow
Turnaround time typically 2–3 days
Paid per project (to be discussed)
Test Project:
All shortlisted applicants will be sent a short paid test catalog to evaluate your selection process and eye for detail. This helps us find someone with strong taste, not just software access.
To Apply:
Please send:
A short intro about your experience with Lightroom/Photoshop
Any relevant work samples or project details (if available)
Your typical rate per catalog or per image
Confirm that you're comfortable working with Lightroom catalogs and Dropbox
