Appium Automation Developer for iOS—Multi-Account Management on Custom Social Media Platform via App Cloning (Crane)
We are seeking an experienced Appium automation developer (iOS, mobile bot development, jailbroken environments) to build a complete automation solution for multi-account management of our proprietary social media platform on a jailbroken iPhone (iOS 15–17).
The core of this project involves controlling multiple, cloned app containers (via the Crane app cloning tool)—with each container running one account—and automating various user actions at scale for realistic traffic generation and engagement.
Technical Stack:
iPhone 7, jailbroken with Palera1n
Sileo as package manager
Crane app installed for cloning the main social media app (each clone = one container/account)
Mac or PC running Appium, connected to the iPhone via USB
Custom social media platform app (with standard features: feed, stories, video/photo posts, like/follow/comment system, DMs)
Automation Requirements:
Multi-Container Handling:
The script must switch between multiple cloned instances of the social media app (each in its own container via Crane).
Only one container can run in the iPhone foreground at a time; the script cycles through all containers sequentially.
Account Warmup Tasks:
Log into each container/account
Scroll through the feed for 10 minutes
Follow 5 relevant accounts (pull accounts from a provided list or per specified rules)
Automated Actions (per container/account):
Posting: Upload/release video or photo content from a dedicated local media folder
Follow/Unfollow: Execute follow and unfollow actions on specified users according to a set schedule and volume
Likes: Like various posts in the main feed at randomized intervals
Comments:
Post predefined comments under feed posts
Reply to comments on the account’s own posts (basic template or matching logic)
Direct Messaging:
Auto-send DMs using predefined text snippets
Reply to received DMs from a set of templates
Timing & Randomization:
All actions must be realistically distributed in time (to simulate human usage), with randomized delays and intervals
No repetitive, predictable patterns
Multi-Account Orchestration:
Script should rotate through all available containers/accounts and execute workflows for each by schedule (example: every 90 minutes, switch account)
Touch Control:
All actions must use x/y coordinate touchscreen taps and swipes, strictly no Appium “element locators”
Randomize each tap/swipe position within the button/hit area to simulate human usage as much as possible
Configuration & Extensibility:
Scripts/settings must be modular and support simple extension to more accounts/containers
Make input parameters (user data, content paths, templates, schedules) easily editable via config file (preferably JSON or YAML)
Logging:
All activities and errors should be logged with timestamps
Screenshots of critical steps as evidence of action execution (optional)
Deliverables:
Production-ready Appium scripts for Mac/PC
Setup and usage documentation for the automation system
Step-by-step guide for initial deployment on our test devices
(Optional) Initial remote setup support via screenshare
Required Experience:
Demonstrated experience with Appium automation (iOS, jailbroken devices)
Extensive prior work with multi-container/app cloning setups (preferably via Crane or similar)
Proven background developing mobile automation bots for social media type workflows
Strong adherence to x/y coordinate-based mobile automation (no element selectors)
To Apply:
Please provide examples of similar mobile automation projects (especially iOS/app cloning/multi-account)
