Online English & Math Tutor with Administrative Support

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and tech-savvy tutor to provide personalized online education for two 7th-grade students. This role combines direct tutoring with curriculum development, progress tracking, and light administrative support for our family.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Direct Tutoring (90 minutes daily, 4:00-5:30 PM Pacific Time)

Provide one-on-one English and Math instruction at 7th-grade level
Student A: 60-minute daily session
Student B: 30-minute daily session
Adapt teaching methods to each student's learning style and pace
Create an engaging, supportive learning environment

2. Educational Research & Preparation (90 minutes daily, flexible timing)

Research and evaluate online learning platforms (IXL, Khan Academy, etc.)
Develop lesson plans aligned with 7th-grade curriculum standards
Create custom educational content using creative themes (e.g., Harry Potter universe)
Design educational activities using gaming platforms (Minecraft, Roblox)
Prepare materials that make learning interactive and enjoyable

3. Student Progress Management

Track daily attendance and participation
Monitor assignment completion and comprehension levels
Prepare detailed weekly progress reports for parents
Conduct periodic assessments to measure learning outcomes
Maintain digital records of student performance

4. School Coordination

Communicate with school teachers regarding curriculum alignment
Ensure tutoring complements classroom learning
Track school assignments and deadlines
Support students with homework when needed

5. Administrative Support

Monitor student attendance for tutoring and other Zoom classes
Manage educational calendar and send reminders
Assist with scheduling and coordination of family educational activities
Light administrative tasks as needed (approximately 15-20% of time)

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Mathematics, or related field
Minimum 2 years of tutoring or teaching experience
Strong command of English (written and spoken)
Proficiency in 7th-grade Math and English curriculum
Experience with online teaching platforms and tools

Technical Requirements:

Reliable high-speed internet connection (minimum 25 Mbps)
Professional-quality headset with noise-canceling microphone
Quiet, dedicated workspace free from distractions
Computer with webcam capable of running multiple applications
Familiarity with Zoom, Google Workspace, and educational platforms

Preferred Qualifications (optional):

Experience with gamification in education
Knowledge of Minecraft Education Edition or Roblox Studio
Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT) for content creation
Experience creating engaging educational content
Background in child psychology or special education

Work Schedule Details:

Fixed Hours: 4:00-5:30 PM Pacific Time (8:00-9:30 AM Philippine Time)
Flexible Hours: Additional 90 minutes daily at your convenience
Total: 15 hours per week
Days: Monday through Friday
Holidays: No work during Philippine national holidays and US federal holidays

Compensation & Benefits:

Monthly salary: $400 USD
Payment: Weekly via Wise (every Friday)
Stable position through May 2026
Opportunity for contract renewal based on performance
