Web Designer / Developer (medical or home services industry exp required)

Job Description:

Seasoned website building professional with both design and development experience. Development isn't too complicated as our clients are mostly small local businesses with nothing too complicated from a development standpoint.

We build all new sites in WordPress / Elementor so we are looking for someone with strong acumen in this environment but can also handle themselves comfortably in other page builders like Divi, or other environments/frameworks (Duda, Webflow, Bootstrap, WP Bakery, etc.).

Our clients are either in need of a new website from the ground up or restructuring an existing website on whatever framework / CMS / page builder they are using.

Most of the time for new builds we require clients to provide the necessary content, but often you will be required to source relevant images that are able to be used without violating copyright.

If we need to model a site off of a design the client likes from another company, you have the ability to build from scratch a similar design style and reword all relevant content quickly and again, within legal bounds.

We will be training you on the most advanced content and structural SEO methods and teach you how to research, strategize and implement these optimal methods for the home page, service pages and location pages.

Our most common local business industries we serve are home services (HVAC, plumbing, house cleaning, pest control, etc.) and medical, but we also handle most other local businesses like salons/spas, wellness, automotive, etc.

It is absolutely required that applicants be able to provide a portfolio of websites they worked on in either medical or home services, or ideally both. Prior, proven experience in these verticals is a must. And it must be proven that the work was

Our service offering is to create "complete" websites as a differentiator. That means a website that:

- looks great
- converts well
- loads fast
- is cross-browser and cross platform compatible
- responsive to all screen sizes from mobile devices to ultrawide monitors
- is SEO-optimized (SEO titles, page titles, headers, descriptions, page/post sitemaps, alt-tags on all images in optimized webp format, pages that are properly set to index/noindex, proper interlinking between pages, etc.)
- quickly migrating websites successfully from staging area to domain with no loss of functionality (unless already built on the domain which we try to do when possible)
- expert use of form builders and setting up smtp relays / authorization (typically either Microsoft or Google hosted email to get form submission notifications inboxed successfully for the client

For websites that are in need of restructuring:

- optimize main SEO elements (SEO title, page title, headers, descriptions) through our entity and structural analysis SOPs
- content pruning through proficient use of Search Console
- fixing 404 errors or broken inbound links via redirects
- slug optimization
- page speed optimization
- image alt-tag and webp format optimization

We typically average 1-2 websites a month with peaks as high as 3-4.

We provide you with the scope of the project, number of pages and other materials so you can provide a cost and estimated number of days/weeks to complete.

In order to be considered for this position, please submit your portfolio of websites you've built in the form of URLs. Galleries will be ignored, only URLs to active websites will be reviewed. A min of 5 website URLs must be submitted all within either the medical or home services industries (could be a mix of both which would even be ideal).

If we like what we see, we schedule a web meeting to do a formal interview and answer any questions you have.

If that stage is met to both our satisfaction, we will request a minimum of 2 references located in the U.S. from either the owner of the company the website was built for, or a firm/agency you worked for that can speak to the quality of your services, responsiveness and ability to complete projects on time and within budget.

So while we do not need the references up front, please only apply if you know you can provide them later in the interview process.
