JOB OVERVIEW

TurFresh is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager to oversee and support a team of three Payroll Specialists based in the Philippines. This role will be filled by a remote candidate outside the United States, but requires extensive knowledge of U.S. payroll laws, particularly for California and Georgia.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Payroll Manager, preferably managing remote, international teams.
- Must have worked in the payroll department of a U.S. corporation or business, with direct responsibility for multi-state payroll processing and compliance.
- Demonstrated experience working with U.S. payroll systems, with specific expertise in California and Georgia state laws.
- Hands-on experience with Paychex payroll software is required.
- Familiarity with managing compliance with federal and multi-state payroll regulations, including IRS tax codes, FLSA, and garnishments.

Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Paychex Flex or similar Paychex platforms for processing, reporting, and audit compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook (email, calendar, task coordination).
- Strong spreadsheet and data validation skills (Excel/Google Sheets is a plus).
- Knowledge of remote payroll management tools, workflows, and documentation systems.

Compliance & Legal Knowledge:
- Thorough understanding of:
- U.S. federal payroll tax regulations (including W-2, W-4, FICA, FUTA).
- California-specific rules (meal/rest breaks, wage statement requirements, sick leave).
- Georgia-specific tax and withholding rules.
- International employment complexities related to overseas payroll coordination (as applicable).

Soft Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to liaise between U.S.-based leadership and offshore tea ---------- mbers.
- Proven team leadership capabilities with experience mentoring and developing payroll specialists.
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset.
- Comfortable operating in remote, fast-paced environments.
