Mechanical Engineer

Project Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to design a custom support frame for an Omron Hornet Delta 565 robot. This frame must provide structural support for the robot while accommodating mounting, cable routing, safety considerations, and any vibration or payload requirements. The final deliverables should include detailed technical drawings, and a complete bill of materials (BOM) ready for fabrication.

Responsibilities:
Design a rigid, modular support frame tailored to the mounting footprint and dynamic forces of the Omron Hornet Delta 565. Create detailed drawings (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar).
Produce 2D fabrication-ready mechanical drawings with tolerances and annotations.
Generate a comprehensive BOM, including materials, dimensions, and vendor part numbers (if COTS components are used).

Account for:
Robot mounting plate compatibility and hole patterns.
Ease of assembly and access for maintenance.
Load-bearing requirements for dynamic loads and payloads.
Integration with existing conveyor or workcell equipment (if applicable).
Optional: Recommendations for vibration dampening, leveling feet, and floor anchoring.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD Mechanical, or Word).
Demonstrated experience designing industrial machinery, frames, or robotic systems.
Ability to design for manufacturability and provide practical, fabrication-ready solutions.
Strong communication skills for periodic design reviews and updates.

Deliverables:
Complete assembly drawing of the support frame.
Fully annotated 2D fabrication drawings.
Structured BOM with quantities, part specs, and material callouts.
(Optional) FEA stress analysis or load simulation if applicable to your capabilities. Separate pricing for this analysis.
