Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive, medium-level Virtual Assistant based in the Philippines with fluent English to build and manage our WordPress website from scratch. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, creative collaboration, and organizational skills to create a user-friendly, branded website that drives our success. This part-time role (96 hours/month) offers the chance to grow into a long-term position with a dynamic new company.
Key Responsibilities
Website Creation: Build a WordPress website from scratch, including setting up hosting, selecting and configuring a theme, and installing necessary plugins to ensure functionality and scalability.
Website Structure: Create wireframe diagrams to design and optimize the website’s structure for usability and functionality.
UX/UI Development: Develop user-friendly UX/UI functionality using WordPress themes and plugins (e.g., Elementor) to enhance navigation and user experience.
Branding Development: Collaborate with the UK Director team to define and apply the company’s branding, including colour schemes, fonts, and overall website feel, ensuring consistency across all pages.
Membership System Management: Utilize the MemberPress plugin to create and manage the website’s membership system, integrating it with our CRM for high-level lead generation and automation.
Website Security: Implement WordPress security measures (e.g., SSL, security plugins, GDPR compliance) to protect the website and user data.
E-Learning Module: Refine and upload draft e-learning content to the WordPress website, linking it to GamiPress plugin progress bar systems for user engagement and tracking.
Business/Service Directory: Build and manage a directory of local services in the Midlands, UK, using a WordPress plugin, ensuring accurate and up-to-date content.
Bug Fixing: Identify and resolve bugs and technical issues to maintain a seamless website experience.
SEO Optimization: Optimize website content for search engines (e.g., keyword research, meta tags, Yoast) to maximize user traffic and visibility.
App Development: Our site will eventually become an app on the app store. So content will need to be transferrable to this medium.
Qualifications
• 2–3 years of experience as a Virtual Assistant or WordPress administrator, with proven experience building WordPress websites from scratch.
• Strong proficiency in WordPress, including initial setup, theme customization, and plugins (MemberPress, GamiPress, directory plugins).
• Experience with UX/UI design tools (e.g., Figma, Canva, or Elementor) for wireframing and layout design.
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS for minor website customizations.
• Familiarity with CRM integration (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho) for lead generation and automation.
• Knowledge of WordPress security plugins (e.g., Wordfence) and basic GDPR compliance.
• Proficiency in content-focused SEO (e.g., Yoast, keyword research, meta descriptions).
• Ability to collaborate on creating brand guidelines (colours, fonts, tone) from scratch.
• Experience managing content for directories or e-learning platforms is a plus.
• Fluent English communication (written and verbal) for collaboration with the UK team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing multiple tasks.
• Proactive problem-solver with experience troubleshooting website issues.
• Based in the Philippines, comfortable with a part-time role of 96 hours/month at approximately $4/hour.
• Excellent sense of humour, resilience, trustworthiness, able to operate unsupervised when needed.
