Remote Bookkeeper (Ecommerce | Part-Time | Australian Business)

Position: Part-Time Bookkeeper
Hours: Approx. 5–10 hours per month (flexible)
Timezone: Work anytime, but must deliver completed reports by set monthly deadlines (AEST)
Start: ASAP looking for someone to take over ongoing bookkeeping and month-end financial prep using Xero.

We’re Ride Proud Clothing — a premium Australian equestrian apparel brand serving mature female riders across Australia, the US, Canada, United Kingdom and New Zealand.
We sell online via Shopify and have a strong, values-led, community-driven brand.
Our founder is hands-on and actively involved in the business — but it’s time to hand over the bookkeeping reins. If you’re calm, capable, and quietly detail-obsessed, read on.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Recording and reconciling Shopify sales and payouts
* Categorising expenses and ensuring correct GST allocation
* Reconciling Bank Accounts
* Drafting monthly reports: revenue, expenses, profit/loss
* Flagging any unusual or unallocated transactions
* Providing Reconciled Accounts Reports each month
* Providing Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet Reports each month

Who We’re Looking For
* Prior ecommerce bookkeeping experience (must be experienced with Shopify and Xero)
* Strong attention to detail
* Proactive communicator (you’ll follow up if something’s missing)
* Understanding of GST/BAS (Australia-specific tax knowledge preferred)
* Able to work independently but not afraid to ask when unsure
* Can stick to monthly deadlines without chasing
* Comfortable working directly with business founder

Results We Expect
* Accounts fully reconciled by the 5th of each month
* Clear and accurate monthly reports (P&L and B/S)
* No uncategorised or misallocated transactions
* Clean, audit-ready financials every month

Work Style
This is a flexible, part-time position.
No set hours. No micromanaging.
You manage your own time and just get it done — accurately and on time.

You’ll be working directly with the founder, who values clear communication, calm competence, and proactive problem-solving. We’ll use Microsoft Teams to chat and share files as needed.
