Hello! We are currently looking to develop an app for a meal prep business. We create, cook and sell healthy meals for active people to be sold to individuals and in bulk to gyms. Currently we are generating about 40 meals a week, but are looking to expand to much greater numbers. We would like to have an App built which will be scalable and facilitate our logistical needs. Preferably the App could work in both iOS and Android. Below is more information about what we'd like the App to be capable of. This is merely our wish list and are fluid in our expectations. We'd like to partner with the right candidate and come up with a solution which covers our needs and falls within a budget you are comfortable with.
Here is a description of the sales cycle we would like to do with the App upon completion:
1. Individual or business downloads app and creates profile. This profile will contain name, contact info, allergies/dietary restrictions and any special instructions.
2. Individual or business selects which meals they’d like to receive (and which they do not) through a menu of items. Then they select a delivery method (home/business delivery or drop-off at participating retailers)
3. Customers are then charged via credit card (Stripe) or through Venmo. Orders can either be a recurring subscription fee or a one time purchase.
4. Information is added to a database which can be accessed on the back end. This information will be organized to show the kitchen how many meals to make, which items go where and how much money is coming in.
5. Since the menu is continually being updated, clients will be encouraged to select there next weeks meals and will be notified of new items they may wish to try. They may also cancel the service at anytime.
Other capabilities we would like this app to have:
App should be able to send push notifications informing clients of new menu items or other announcements.
We will need a place for a legal disclaimer to be displayed before clients sign up and create their profiles.
The app needs to track the amount of revenue being generated by purchases and subscriptions. This data should have the option to exported to a spread sheet.
Profiles should have the option to be for an individual or a business (like a gym or hotel). They will need to take contact info (full name, address, and phone number), meals they prefer, meals they do not want, dietary needs (allergies, diabetes etc).
There should be an employee log in and profile setup as well. They should be able to see how many meals need to be created and where they are going. The financial information should be reserved only for the master login.
Checkout cart should have the option to create a recurring subscription which will be notified every week to make their selections. If they do not make a selection, they will be sent the same selections from the previous week.
App will need to have food menu which can be updated via Wordpress like interface. These menu items will need to have pictures, ingredients list, nutrition information and a way to categorize them (like low carb, lunch, breakfast, no meat etc). There should also be an FAQ page which can just be a static document.
There should be a function on the back end to plot on a map all the deliveries which need to be made for the day. Each point should link to the address which can then be sent to a GPS program to provide directions for the driver. A way to check off each destination and confirm delivery would also be helpful.
On the backend it would be great to have a tabulation of all the meals which need to be created on production days. This will give the kitchen staff a convenient way to see how many of each type of meals need to be made and sent out.
The app should be able to merge the profile data for subscribers into a document which can be printed for sticker labels. This sticker should include the clients contact info, meal selection choices and any special instructions. Also for corporate clients, their food orders should be able to be exported to an invoice.
