As a Legal Assistant, you will perform various entry-level legal and administrative support duties of limited complexity with established guidelines and procedures within the justice system. You will be responsible for assisting paralegals by performing lien checks, running background reports, drafting demands, and entering case information into our database system. Responsibilities:
• Creating initial drafts of demand packages for paralegals, including summarizing medical treatment and redacting sensitive information.
• Completing Early Policy Limits Demands, Medpay Demands, UIM/UM Demands, and MMI demands.
• Enter and retrieve case information from various databases, including County Recorder sites, government insurance portals, and others.
• Complete timely follow-ups on all private health insurance requests to ensure related documents are received as quickly as possible.
• Perform criminal history/criminal records checks and bureau specific data entry.
• Assist Paralegals with trial preparation.
• Communicate with Paralegals to prioritize items and provide status of tasks to be completed.
• Any other duties as assigned
