Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounts Receivable Excel Specialist to support our finance team by designing, maintaining, and optimizing Excel-based systems to track, manage, and report on accounts receivable data. This role requires strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions, formulas, and data organization, with a focus on improving cash flow visibility, payment tracking, and collections management.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage Excel spreadsheets to track customer invoices, payments, outstanding balances, and aging reports.
Build and maintain dashboards, summaries, and automated reports for internal use by the finance team and upper management.
Reconcile discrepancies between customer records and internal reports to ensure accuracy in accounts receivable.
Assist with automating manual processes and improving the overall AR workflow through Excel tools such as pivot tables, conditional formatting, and VBA/macros.
Collaborate with the accounts receivable team to ensure timely follow-ups on overdue accounts and maintain data integrity.
Generate weekly/monthly AR reports to monitor KPIs like DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), payment trends, and collections performance.
Support audits and financial reviews by organizing AR data and providing necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in an accounting, finance, or data analyst role with a focus on accounts receivable.
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and formula troubleshooting.
Experience with Excel automation tools such as macros or VBA is a strong plus.
Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, etc.) is beneficial.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience:
2+ years in a finance or accounting support role.
Prior experience building AR trackers, collections logs, or payment history databases in Excel.
Understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
