We're looking for a passionate and skilled video editor who can transform raw footage into compelling and engaging long-form YouTube vlogs and dynamic short-form reels. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute creatively to a growing channel and help us connect with our audience on a deeper level.
Responsibilities:
Weekly Vlog Editing:
Edit one (1) primary YouTube vlog per week, with a final duration of 15-20 minutes.
Ingest and organize raw footage Sony Camera
Craft a narrative flow, cutting down footage to a concise and engaging story.
Implement dynamic cuts, transitions, sound design, and color grading to enhance visual appeal and viewer engagement.
Add relevant text overlays, lower thirds, and on-screen graphics as needed.
Incorporate provided music tracks and sound effects, ensuring proper audio levels and copyright compliance.
Sync external audio with video footage.
Address feedback and revisions promptly to ensure the final product aligns with the channel's style and vision.
Short-Form Content Creation:
Create 3-4 short-form video reels (e.g., for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok) from each weekly YouTube vlog.
Identify key highlights, impactful moments, or engaging snippets from the long-form video that can stand alone as compelling short content.
Edit these clips to be punchy, fast-paced, and optimized for vertical viewing (typically 15-60 seconds in length).
Add trending sounds/music (where appropriate and copyright compliant), engaging text overlays, and dynamic visual effects specific to short-form platforms.
General Editing & Collaboration:
Maintain a consistent brand aesthetic and editing style across all videos (vlogs and reels).
Efficiently manage project files, assets, and deliverables.
Communicate clearly and proactively regarding project status, potential challenges, and deadlines.
Collaborate closely with James Pendergrass to understand content goals and creative direction.
Stay updated with YouTube trends, editing techniques, and best practices for both long-form and short-form video.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience as a YouTube Video Editor with a strong portfolio showcasing both long-form vlogs (10+ minutes) and short-form content (reels/shorts).
Proficiency in industry-standard video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve). Please specify which software you prefer or are most proficient in.
Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, and visual composition.
Excellent eye for detail, color correction, and audio mixing.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting strict weekly deadlines.
Familiarity with YouTube's platform, aspect ratios, and best practices for engagement.
Access to a reliable internet connection and robust editing hardware/software setup.
Basic understanding of copyright for music and footage.
Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience with motion graphics and animation (e.g., After Effects).
Knowledge of SEO best practices for YouTube titles and descriptions (optional, but a plus).
