General Accountant & Payroll Specialist

We’re looking for a sharp, proactive accountant who can bring structure to our financial operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, cares about getting the numbers right, and wants to be part of a company that is scaling quickly.

What You’ll Do:
1. Payroll & Compensation
- Process payroll for salaried, hourly, and job-based employees
- Handle CRA remittances and ensure compliance
- Prepare T4s, T4As, and related year-end reports
- Track payroll costs and help management understand labor spend

2. Accounting & Bookkeeping:
- Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online
- Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger checks
- Maintain schedules for accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and other financial items

3. Tax and Compliance
- File sales tax reports and maintain accurate records for GST/HST
- Support tax audits when applicable and prepare supporting documentation
- Stay up to date with Canadian accounting regulations and tax changes

What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or working toward certification is a strong asset
- 2 to 5 years of hands-on accounting experience
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Google Sheets
- Experience with Canadian payroll, tax filings, and audit prep
- Strong attention to detail, solid communication skills, and a sense of ownership
