We’re looking for a detail-oriented, experienced bookkeeper who is confident using Xero and has a solid understanding of eCommerce accounting, particularly with platforms like Stripe and the use of clearing accounts.
You’ll be working with an established business that handles online transactions and needs accurate, timely bookkeeping and reconciliation. Familiarity with clearing accounts for Stripe payouts and fees is essential.
We also use Fathom for financial reporting. Experience with Fathom is not required, but a willingness to learn and work with it is a big plus.
This is a part-time, long-term role with regular monthly responsibilities and the opportunity to grow with our team.
Responsibilities:
Manage and reconcile Xero accounts monthly
Accurately record Stripe deposits, separating gross revenue from fees using our clearing account system
Ensure all transactions are categorized correctly
Match bank feeds and keep accounts fully reconciled
Assist in preparing monthly reports (we use Fathom — training provided if needed)
Liaise with the business owner about any inconsistencies or missing documents
Keep digital records organized and up to date
Requirements:
2+ years of experience using Xero
Strong understanding of bookkeeping for eCommerce businesses
Experience with Stripe payments and setting up/using clearing accounts
High attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet monthly deadlines
Clear and effective communicator (written English)
Preferred (but not required):
Experience with Fathom reporting
We expect bookkeeping to take around 10–15 hours per month (2–4 hours per week) depending on volume and workflow. This may increase slightly during reporting periods or as the business grows.
