JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Graphic Designer/WordPress Administrator to join our web development team.

We're currently building some great websites for ourselves and our clients, and we'd like someone to help us make our sites look really good! Hopefully, we can have some fun along the way!

The position we are offering is full time (5 days per week). If you’re an experienced designer, you like a challenge, and you’re prepared to work as a part of our dedicated team, I would really like to hear from you.

You'll need to be experienced in all (or most) of the following:

1. Design headers, logos, sliders, side panels and buttons for websites.
2. Design email newsletters, graphics for Facebook pages and twitter pages.
3. Design of print media – brochures, flyers, letter heads, business cards.
4. Install WordPress using Fantastico.
5. Install and configure our WordPress themes (we use Optimize Press, Headway and Catalyst).
6. Install and configure WordPress plug ins.
7. Create WordPress menus.
8. Add and edit pages and posts in WordPress.
9. Copy a WordPress site from the development server/url to the actual server/url.
10. Backup Wordpress database and files using FTP and CPanel.
11. Ability to troubleshoot problems (or know when you need to ask me a question) is really important.

You may also be asked to:
12. Learn about/create mini-nets and do link building tasks.
13. Help us to create or edit contact lists or other marketing data.
14. Do some general office admin tasks.

We can provide some training on Wordpress if you need it, but you’ll need to understand the basics pretty quickly.

Now here’s the boring bit - conditions of employment:
The position we are offering is 5 days (40 hours) per week, with 10 days leave, one week of which needs to be taken between Christmas and New Year. We also pay the Philippine “13th month”. The starting salary is US$250 per month to be paid by PayPal. You will need a PayPal account for this.

We will review your salary every 3 months, and, depending on your performance in carrying out your tasks, your salary should go up over time. Please note that your salary could also go down if you don’t work well for us.

IMPORTANT: As you would be working remotely and it is not possible for me to see if you are “in the office” on any day, it is a condition of being paid for each day that you supply a simple report of what work you did. It won’t take you more than a few minutes to complete at the end of each day, and the questions you will be asked to answer are also designed to help me to help you. I like to make your job as easy as possible!

You’ll need to work similar hours to mine (I am in Australia, probably 2.5 hours ahead of your time zone) so your working day will be from 8.30 in the morning your time until 16.30 each day. We will keep in contact via Skype, email and basecamphq project management.
