Can you raise the dead? (in a marketing sense)

Hi, I have a website that though working needs high numbers of people on it to be useful. This means that I need someone who has the ability to build a buzz around a product that won't really be useful until it has decent numbers on and using it. Do you think you have the ability to do this?

A quick overview of the product:
It is a site that suggests events based on their interests. It is mostly based on music and theatre though there are more items in there. Also, the market I'm starting with is Ireland as I am from there and feel it is a good size to work with. The aim is to build a brand that is known to be the first place to go when you want to do something with your time either with a date, friends or by yourself. I have an idea in how I would go about doing that but I am interested in your thoughts as to how to approach it.
