Lead Video Editor - Born Creative

About Us:

Born Creative encompasses multiple ventures led by music producer and entrepreneur Charlie Crown, including a music production/record label business and a digital Notion templates company helping people do more of what matters. We're looking for our first video editor to join our journey.

The Role:

We're seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Video Editor (20 hours/week initially, with potential to grow to full-time) to serve as the right-hand partner in managing our video content creation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, take ownership of their work, and help build efficient systems that allow our founder to focus on creative production.

Primary Responsibilities:

Video Production & Editing:

- Edit 7-10 short-form videos per week (30-60 seconds, 9:16 format)
- Create multiple variations of the same video for A/B testing
- Develop reusable templates to speed up editing workflow
- Ensure consistent quality and brand alignment across all content

Content Management & Distribution:

- Cross-post videos using scheduling tools like Metricool
- Organize video files and assets in Dropbox with clear naming conventions
- Maintain video library and archive completed projects
- Create style guides and documentation for consistent output

Systems & Optimization:

- Build efficient editing workflows that scale with business growth
- Create template libraries for different content types
- Document processes and SOPs for video production
- Proactively suggest improvements to content strategy

Must-Have Skills & Qualities:

- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (must own active subscription)

- Strong written communication skills with perfect grammar and spelling
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with ability to work independently
- Tech-savvy with quick adaptability to new tools and platforms
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities
- Comfort with async communication while maintaining responsiveness

Required Tools Experience:

- Adobe Premiere Pro - Advanced video editing and template creation
- Notion - For documentation, knowledge management, and project information
- Slack - For daily communication (must be responsive within 2 hours during work hours)
- Dropbox - For file organization and collaboration

Additional Valued Experience:

- Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and advanced effects
- Experience with social media scheduling tools (Metricool, Typefully)
- Color grading and audio enhancement skills
- Understanding of platform-specific content optimization
- Template creation and workflow optimization experience
