JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to join our team. This role is essential to ensuring the financial accuracy and operational efficiency of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Project Coordination
• Understand and adapt to the unique expectations of each client, including project managers, architects, engineers, and store personnel.
• Gain a clear understanding of project scope, operational environments (e.g., open facilities), and client-specific processes and timelines.

Travel & Logistics
• Coordinate travel, accommodations, and vehicle rentals for self and tea ---------- mbers in alignment with project budgets.
Project Scheduling & Progress
• Support the Project Manager in developing and maintaining project schedules.
• Monitor progress, adjust manpower and materials as needed, and communicate updates to all stakeholders.

Safety Compliance
• Assist in ensuring all safety protocols are followed and integrated into project planning and execution.

Procurement & Contracts
• Support sourcing and procurement of materials and subcontractors.
• Assist in negotiating pricing and scope, and manage purchase order approvals.
Insurance & Compliance
• Collect and track subcontractor insurance and licensing documentation to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Change Orders & Billing
• Prepare proposal requests and manage change order approvals.
• Assist with subcontractor payment applications and monthly owner billings.
• Track lien waivers and joint check agreements to ensure timely and accurate payments.

Invoicing & Financial Oversight
• Review and reconcile vendor invoices with purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with internal and client reporting.

Project Closeout
• Coordinate punch walks and ensure completion of all punch list items.
• Prepare final project presentations and documentation for client review.

Team Support & Documentation
• Ensure field teams have all necessary documents, tools, and supplies.
• Manage daily logs, photo documentation, and internal communication processes.

Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in project accounting or a related role.
• Experience with construction and accounting software (e.g., Procore, Sage, QuickBooks).
• Familiarity with job cost accounting and construction industry practices.
• Strong financial acumen and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of integrity, motivation, and teamwork.
