Magento Developer (Mid to Senior Level) – Remote

We’re looking for a Full Stack Magento Developer with a deep understanding of the Magento framework to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands-on development and guiding others in best practices.
Our in-house team is technically strong and well-versed in several technologies/platforms but we’re expanding our capabilities in Magento and need someone to lead the way. You’ll be the go-to expert for all things Magento, helping to design and implement solutions while also coaching and supporting experienced developers who are new to the platform.
What you’ll do
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of custom Magento extensions
• Advise on best practices for custom module development, theming, performance optimisation, and third-party integrations
• Support and coach existing developers in Magento development, helping to build in-house capability
• Review code and provide constructive feedback
• Troubleshoot complex issues and guide the team to solutions
• Collaborate with stakeholders across product, design, and operations to deliver reliable and performant features
What we’re looking for
• Proven experience developing Magento 2 applications (Commerce and/or Open Source)
• In-depth knowledge of the Magento framework, system architecture, themes, modules, functionality, and configuration
• Strong understanding of PHP, MySQL, and related web technologies
• Experience with custom module development and integration with external systems
• Solid grasp of software architecture and design patterns
• Comfortable guiding and mentoring other developers, including senior engineers
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Nice to have
• Experience working with headless Magento implementations
• Exposure to frontend technologies like Hyvä or PWA Studio
• Knowledge of performance tuning, caching strategies, and Magento-specific deployment best practices
• Experience in e-commerce environments with multiple storefronts or complex product/catalog structures
