AI Chatbot Developer

We’re seeking a skilled front-end + back-end developer to build a fully custom AI chatbot powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 or GPT-4, embedded on a WordPress website.

This chatbot will serve as a branded, conversational assistant capable of handling structured prompts and responding in real time — without requiring users to have a ChatGPT Plus account.

The goal is to create a sleek, branded user experience where visitors can interact with one of 20+ GPT-powered bots, each trained for a specific function (e.g., lead magnet ideas, brand voice coaching, caption writing).

Key Responsibilities:
• Build a custom chatbot interface (chat bubble or inline panel)
• Connect frontend input to the OpenAI API
• Support multiple bots (each with custom prompts)
• Implement clean UX, mobile responsiveness, and loading animations
• Ensure secure handling of API keys and user privacy
• Optional: Implement logging, webhook integrations, or email delivery of results

Required Skills & Technologies:
Frontend:
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React or Vanilla JS)
Backend:
• Node.js, Python, or PHP (whichever integrates best with WordPress hosting)
API Integration:
• OpenAI GPT API (understand prompt formatting, token limits, rate limits)
WordPress Compatibility:
• Able to embed chat via shortcode, HTML block, or custom plugin
Bonus Skills:
• Familiarity with BotUI, Landbot, Tidio SDK, or Make/Zapier
• UX polish (typing animations, error handling, fallback messages)

Deliverables:
• Fully functional chatbot system, embedded on our WordPress site
• Admin interface or clear file structure to manage/edit prompt logic
• Documentation (README) that includes:
• How to update API key
• How to edit bot prompts
• How to create duplicate bots
• Optional: Logs or email export of user interactions

Timeline:
