This ESTIMATOR position requires broad skills and solid expertise.

The candidate should have the following:

> Strong hands-on experience in all aspects of metal fabrication especially quoting;
> Deep knowledge regarding the types of metals, finishes, and thickness;
> Uses both basic and advanced calculations to determine the current and potential productivity of a process;
> Uses analytical skills to evaluate and interpret data;
> Have skills in creating reports and describing the results to company decision-makers.


DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Create quotes for machine shop and sheet metal. The Estimator must be able to quote sheet metal fabrication jobs A-Z based on hands-on experience and review of drawings and all details required by customers;
+ Use SolidWorks, Fusion360 or other engineering drawing software
+ Must understand sheet metal fabrication details, how to measure parts to thousandths and have deep knowledge of metal finishes and 3rd party metal treatments or metal powder coating;
+ Use skills in project management and mathematics to better understand the current processes and procedures of the company, then work to improve them;
+ Manage production schedules and coordinate services to maximize productivity; and


QUALIFICATIONS

> Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in a metal fabrication environment;
> Strong written and verbal communication skills;
> Must be aware of a business’s needs while making technical recommendations understandable;
> Good common sense and business sense;
> Be able to handle stress and perform consistently in a fast-paced demanding environment; and
> Ability to work with a team and exercise independent decision-making.
