We are looking for a Documentary Film Editor to assist in creating a video-based presentation for a family custody case. This project is not a traditional film but rather a structured visual record of personal, legal, and interpersonal issues that are being submitted for review in a legal context.
The editor will work with existing footage—primarily phone videos, recorded conversations, and supporting materials such as text messages,
Responsibilities:
-Edit raw footage into a coherent narrative, organized by topic or timeline
-Incorporate supporting materials (e.g., documents, screenshots, captions) to clarify issues
-Maintain tone and pacing that supports clarity, empathy, and respect
-Ensure the final product is appropriate for submission to legal professionals or court
-Handle all content with discretion and professionalism
Requirements:
- Strong experience editing documentary or factual content
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Ability to work independently and manage sensitive or confidential materials
- Experience working on personal or legal-related projects is a plus
- Strong sense of narrative structure and attention to detail
