Virtual Assistant – Content & Growth Operations

About FWDstart:

FWDstart is a twice-weekly tech and VC newsletter based in Abu Dhabi, serving founders, VCs, and operators across MENA. We’re growing fast and looking for a highly motivated remote assistant to help scale our content output, brand reach, and growth operations.

Role Overview:

You’ll work directly with our co-founders to support the end-to-end execution of content publishing, digital channel growth, and research-driven projects. You’ll own and manage our presence across Instagram, X, and ---------- pany page, help repurpose and package our podcast and newsletter content, and assist with the creation of strategic resources like funding databases and lead magnets.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is organised, content-savvy, and comfortable using digital tools to work fast and with precision.

Key Responsibilities:

Publish news stories and content updates to Instagram Stories, X, and our ---------- pany page
Repurpose newsletter content into story-first formats (quote images, visual hooks, story cards)
Adapt press releases and startup funding news into concise, on-brand writeups in our house style
Clip our weekly podcast episodes into short, engaging reels for Instagram and X
Design graphics and visuals using Canva (for social, newsletter, and product content)
Use ChatGPT and AI tools to accelerate summaries, drafts, and research
Conduct research and data entry for strategic lead magnets (e.g. VC lists, exit trackers)
Assist with the content calendar, content pipeline updates, and performance reporting
Support the creation of our weekly news round-up edition (fact-checking, links, formatting)

You’re a fit if you:

Write clean, engaging English and know how to simplify complex ideas
Are comfortable taking raw info (links, press releases, transcripts) and turning it into polished content
Have experience managing or contributing to brand social accounts
Know your way around Canva, Google Sheets, and basic CMS or email platforms
Are fluent with AI tools like ChatGPT and use them regularly to work faster and more effectively
Are reliable, responsive, and confident working independently

Bonus if you:

Have worked in a newsletter, podcast, or tech media environment
Are familiar with tech/startup terminology and what excites founders or investors
Can bring ideas for new content formats or engagement hooks to the table

Hours & Pay:

Full-time (35–40 hrs/week)
Remote – must have at least 3 hrs/day overlap with Gulf Standard Time
$800–$1,000/month depending on experience
