About You:

- You’re also familiar with social media and understand why certain types of content work and also they types that don’t work.
- You will be empowered to create your own checklists, systems, and recommendations to ensure the job gets done properly and the business runs smoothly.
- Half of our editing team is also based in the Philippines. If you can understand what I need and communicate it clearly to our editors, it saves time and keeps the creative process flowing. This role is designed for someone who can take ownership, speak the creative language fluently, and help coordinate the editing team with minimal owner involvement.
Social media will be an integral part of this role. You should be highly proficient with Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, with a working knowledge of what content performs well and why. You will be expected to manage content calendars, repurpose clips, track engagement metrics, and collaborate on ideas that align with our brand’s storytelling and style for JD Cobb Films & JD Cobb Productions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the communication hub between the owner and multiple video editors?
- Track project timelines and ensure files move smoothly from shoot to delivery?
- Manage and send client contracts using HoneyBook templates?
- Coordinate revision requests and track deadlines with editors?
- Organize file deliveries via Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.?
- Light research (ex: sourcing vendors, tracking new data, marketing data)?
- Manage and collect content from editor for social media to post?
- Create internal systems and suggest workflow improvements?
- Support the owner with administrative need and potentially do some light client communication

- QuickBooks (Bookkeeping + some invoicing)?

Compensation & Trial Period:
During the First 90 Days:?You’ll be paid a flat monthly rate of $1,200 USD, based on working 15–25 hours per week.?This trial period allows both of us to build trust, test workflows, and ensure a great fit.??
After the Trial Period:?You’ll transition to an hourly rate of $10–$13 USD/hour, with the potential to grow into a full-time role (30+ hrs/week). Top performers will also be considered for additional pay increases and advancement into operations-level responsibilities.
What Success Looks Like:
First 30 Days:?
- Learn company systems (HoneyBook, QuickBooks, Dropbox, Google Workspace)?
- Understand the style of our wedding work and commercial work to better communicate with editors.?
- Streamline a system for editor communication (knowing they are all in different platforms)
- Draft and send at least 1 client contract (if we onboard a new client)?
- Learn the audience of each social platform for JD Cobb Films and JD Cobb Productions so we can make improvements on the social front?
At 60 Days:?
- Own 80% of communication + file delivery for projects?
- Set up a project tracking system that can be shared with editors and clients (inside or outside of Honeybook)?
- Suggest at least 2 workflow improvements?
- Begin assisting with social media idea tracking?
- Handle light client communications??
At 90 Days:?
- Fully manage day-to-day project delivery independently?
- Proactively communicate with editors + track revisions and deadlines?
- Own contract and invoicing flow through HoneyBook and/or QuickBooks?
- Begin creating standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Minimum Requirements:
- Fluent written and verbal English?
- Strong organizational and communication skills?
- Confident managing communication across WhatsApp, Messenger, and
- Comfortable using Dropbox, Google Drive, and Google Workspace ?
- Proactive, independent thinker who anticipates next steps?
- Available to work U.S. Central Time core hours (at least 7am–12pm CST)
If you haven’t worked directly in a video production company, experience in a marketing role where you’ve worked with video teams or hired production companies is strongly preferred. You should understand how to give clear feedback, communicate vision, and recognize what makes video content effective.
Bonus Skills (Not Required but a HUGE Plus):
- Experience working for a creative/video production company or marketing company?
- Familiarity with Canva, Trello, Asana, Notion, etc.?
- Understanding of social media platforms (primarily Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube)?
- Experience tracking content calendars or engagement metrics
Equipment & Internet Requirements:
- Reliable computer or laptop (Apple preferred but not required)?
- Strong, stable internet connection + backup internet access?
- Smartphone with access to WhatsApp and Messenger
Growth Opportunities:
This role is intended to grow. For the right person, there is a path to expand into an Operations Manager role with increased hours, pay, and leadership responsibilities. Future opportunities may include managing other freelancers, overseeing larger projects, and taking on more client-facing communication.
